The two-year (four-semester) M.A. in Economics programme of the PSE follows the choice-based-credit system (CBCS). The M.A. in Economics degree is conferred by the Aryabhatta Knowledge University (the Institution providing affiliation to all degree programmes of the PSE) on the candidate who fulfils the requirements as specified in the M.A. Ordinances. To run this programme, the PSE faculties (also some guest faculties, whenever required) take full responsibility of teaching and evaluating the various courses.
The M.A. in Economics Programme of the PSE is designed to provide the students rigorous trainings on the ever-expanding knowledge base in economics, both theoretical and applied. The students are exposed not only to alternative theoretical paradigms in economics but also trained to improve their analytical and quantitative skills for evaluating the policies emanating from the theories. The students undergoing such trainings become well-equipped to undertake studies at a higher (doctoral) level, and join academic profession or to adopt professional career in the corporate / government sectors.
